An Excellent Experience for 8 Years

VetBilling.com Success Story from:

Mike Brewer

Veterinary Practice Manager
Healthy Pet Veterinary Clinic

Veterinary manager with dog

This was a response from VetBilling partner Mike Brewer, practice manager at Healthy Pet Veterinary Clinic in Madison, WI, to a question on the VHMA forum (Veterinary Hospital Managers Association) about setting up and managing wellness plans.

“I use VetBilling to collect monthly payments for our clinic’s wellness plans, and I can’t say enough good about their company.

They are extremely easy to work with, and if there is an issue with something I can get most things resolved in a single email.

We also offer payment plans to our clients through VetBilling, which has been literally a lifesaver for many pets we’ve cared for at our clinic.

The best part is that once we submit a payment plan or wellness plan using VetBilling’s software platform, they do EVERYTHING after that.  If a payment is NSF or there is an expired card, THEY contact the client and do all the legwork to actually collect the payment, so we don’t have to.

We used to use Premier Pet for our wellness plans, but we discovered that if the client stops paying the plan, Premier Pet still charged us (Premier Pet charges the practice once a month for every wellness plan enrolled, and an additional fee for each active plan).  On several occasions a client’s bank account was NSF, or they stopped their payments, and we still got charged that monthly fee even though Premier Pet wasn’t collecting any payments for us.

We don’t have to worry about any of that with VetBilling.

The cost to the practice is extremely reasonable for the services VetBilling provides.  We have over 150 active wellness plans and probably about 25 currently active payment plans, so having that regular income each month is nice.

If you’re considering offering wellness plans, I would highly recommend doing your own and using VetBilling to manage the payments.  I’m not affiliated with VetBilling in any way, I’ve just been a customer for about 8 years and have had an excellent experience.”

VetBilling's purpose is to expand financial access to veterinary care for pet owners across the entire socioeconomic spectrum. Our mission is to reduce economic euthanasia and owner surrender of pets when pet owners can’t pay the full upfront cost of veterinary care all at once. We accomplish this by giving veterinarians the tools to successfully offer a variety of novel payment solutions, including in-house payment plans, pay-in-advance plans, pet savings accounts, and monthly wellness plans.

Using our secure, cloud-based web software, veterinarians can set up customized payment solutions for clients in just minutes. VetBilling manages all payments for the veterinary practice, and provides full payment recovery and collection services if necessary.
