Roxy’s Story: A Member of the Family

Roxy is a very special family member to her mom, April, who wrote to us recently to share her story:

“Roxy is a chug (a chihuahua-pug mix). My grandfather found her, her mother and her dead siblings in the garage of a house he was renovating. The so-called ‘owners’ had left a little over a week before he found the pups. He managed to save Roxy’s life but sadly he wasn’t able to save her mama.

He took Roxy home and kept her until he passed away. A year later my grandmother passed, so my Mom and Dad took Roxy. Then they passed away, so I have her now.

I couldn’t afford to take her to the vet due to my husband and I having to travel from South Carolina to California and pay for 2 funerals. I also have medical issues.

Roxy is approximately 14 years old. She has hurt herself 2 times already by jumping down from a bed and couch, which cost about $700, plus I needed to get her updated on her vaccines and make sure she was properly taken care of.

I was so happy when I found out about VetBilling® through my veterinarian! Now I can make sure that Roxy is taken care of, and I know (in my heart) that both my grandparents and parents are looking down on me with smiles on their faces.

I have had Roxy for a little over 2 years now, and she is so much like family for me. She has been through so much and has helped me too. I want to do right by her. Thank you so much for providing me with the help to do that for her.”

April’s payment plan for Roxy:

Total cost of treatment: $1,075.39
Payments: 10 monthly at 107.54
Status: Paid in full on time
Treating Veterinarian: Animal Medical Clinic of Goose Creek

VetBilling's purpose is to expand financial access to veterinary care for pet owners across the entire socioeconomic spectrum. Our mission is to reduce economic euthanasia and owner surrender of pets when pet owners can’t pay the full upfront cost of veterinary care all at once. We accomplish this by giving veterinarians the tools to successfully offer a variety of novel payment solutions, including in-house payment plans, pay-in-advance plans, pet savings accounts, and monthly wellness plans. Using our secure, cloud-based web software, veterinarians can set up customized payment solutions for clients in just minutes. VetBilling manages all payments for the veterinary practice, and provides full payment recovery and collection services if necessary.
