Oz is the light of my life. Adopted him from a rescue society in 2008. He is a pure-bred Maltese and spent his first four years outside with no shelter, grooming or, most importantly, love. He came into my life after I’d suffered some major setbacks and was in a very dark place. Oz’ love carried me through.
Imagine my horror the day he came up lame. Although I have doggy stairs on my bed and couch, he still loves flying off said furniture and managed to rupture an ACL. When I got the news he would require surgery, I almost panicked! Part of my dark period still includes recovering financially, and a huge vet bill seemed impossible.
