When we opened in 2013, we did not start out with strong financial policies and our accounts receivable greatly suffered for it. We had a very large dollar amount in A/R (over $100,000 at some points), did in-house payment plans that were a constant source of frustration and hours of work, and sent people to a collections agency on a monthly basis with rarely any recovery seen from it.
Accounts receivable was consistently a source of tension for us. We operate in a rural area and the average household income in our county is approximately $21,000. We know that many people in our area do not have the ability to pay large balances in full and wanted to offer payment solutions to them, however, we were tired of watching our accounts receivable grow.
Since starting with VetBilling in March of 2021, we have lowered our accounts receivable by over $40,000. We also collected more than we grossed last year recovering over $23,000 for our business.
